Enjoy the Long Weekend

Weekend Reading

I hope you have relaxing plans this weekend. Z and I are traveling to Los Angeles for a family bar mitzvah (hi Fred, Z's grandpa and avid Hilary Stone Soup reader), and then we leave for Hawaii. If you have any Kauai recommendations, please send them my way! This will be my first time in Kauai, and I'm looking forward to hiking, acai bowls, and the beach. Enjoy the three-day weekend with family and friends--we sure will be!

It can really suck to get to the end of a good book. This cute baby understands

We're also in the midst of planning a trip to Kauai, so if you have any recommendations, please send them our way! Three close friends are coming over on Sunday to tell us their favorite places (and to enjoy a champagne brunch).

Weekend Reading

4th of July Happy Friday and 4th of July everyone! Hopefully none of you are at work right now so that you can enjoy the three-day weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the temp here in San Francisco rises above 70. We'll likely make our way out of the city for time with friends, family, and sunshine.

Here are a few of my favorite links from the week:

Weekend Reading

Z and I are headed off to Wine Country for the weekend! We're finally taking a trip to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. After a busy week at work and birthday festivities, it'll be nice to escape the city for some bike rides, wine, and food. Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you!

Now that I work in customer service, I have a new found hatred for mean customers. This article on horror stories from restaurants was fascinating.

I'm starting this book over the weekend.

I love the idea of this grilled avocado and quinoa meal.

Have you seen Inside Out yet? I highly recommend it!

I have a one-wall kitchen, so I loved looking at these great uses of space.

Le Weekend

Post-6:15am spin class breakfast
Phew! This week really flew by. With back-to-back weekends away, life hasn't really seemed "normal", just very busy (and fun). Last weekend was Chicago, and this weekend is LA. I'll be visiting for a family graduation. There are lots of LA restaurants I've been wanting to try out (Eggslut, Sqirl), but I don't think I'll have time to visit them this weekend. It just means another trip down to LA is in order soon!

GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY

I'm really looking forward to the weekend--I'm spending Saturday at the symphony and then spending the night out on the town with some girlfriends.

Life during the week has felt rather boring. I work, eat dinner, then maybe watch TV, and then go to bed. Really exciting, right?

After being in a funk for a while, I've decided it's time for a change. I'm making a concerted effort to plan fun events. I'm starting this weekend with a night out with great friends--the friends that make me feel at home, the friends that make my soul feel good!

Here are a few things to get you to 5pm cocktails...

Happy Friday!

How do you recharge on the weekends? Last weekend was a lot of "me" time; Noe Valley Farmer's Market, watching the new Cinderella movie (which was quite good), and shooting lots of upcoming recipes. This weekend I am hoping to be a little more social. I am celebrating a friend's birthday on Friday, and then I will spending Sunday exploring the city with Vivian.

Hope you have a good weekend filled with both rest and friends. Here are some links to get you to 5pm!

Weekend Reading

I know I am usually all smiles and happiness on Fridays, and it's typically a very accurate reflection of how I actually feel.  This week was not fun. I started getting the cold that everyone on my team at work has, and then I hit my head and have been suffering from headaches ever since. Oh, and Z left very VERY early this morning for India! The highlights of the week included seeing an old friend of DC and spending some "me" time at the nail salon. Here's hoping that this weekend is more relaxing than the past week...

Weekend Reading

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great start to your Friday. I've spent the past two weekends with family, first my sister and then my father. It was so lovely spending time with both of them. I flew out to DC (here we are at the historic Florida Avenue Grill), and then my dad came to visit Z and I in SF.

This weekend will be spent with my friends who feel like family. I will be rushing home from work this evening to celebrate Passover with friends. Growing up, Passover is a true family holiday. Though I hated giving up bread, I always looked forward to the big family meal during Seders. I'm excited to start new traditions this year!

Le Weekend!

Happy Friday! This week has seemed hectic with performance reviews at work and planning out the month. I had intended to make hamantaschen this week in celebration of Purim, but that didn't happen at all. I did book a fun trip though for next week! This month will be filled with lots of traveling, so I am going to try and get in lots of SF plans this week. I'm visiting some new bakeries, seeing old friends at a party, and getting our apartment in order.

To get you to 5pm happy hour time, here are some links for the weekend.
